Unemployment in Bulgaria continues to decrease
Date: 20-June-2007

According to data presented by the Ministry of Labour and Social Policy and the Employment Agency, the continuous trend of decrease in unemployment is still relevant in May 2007.

The reasons for this positive development in the country are mainly the seasonal employment, which is typical for the May, and the significant number of newly employed Bulgarians. The level of unemployment in May is 7.82%, which is the lowest level since 1991, when the unemployed were 7.41%. In comparison to April, the decrease is by 0.55 points, and by 1.77 in comparison to the levels in May 2006.
